Message from the President and from Darren & Carol (land owners) to thank all those who came out for the working B last sunday at Mt Torrens. About 30 or so people turned out and shifted what was required and enjoyed a ride on the free flowing track, with a little rain. Track and parking areas are still a bit wet, though hopefully some wind and rain over the next fe weeks will dry it all out. It was really great to see so many people come out and support the club and participate in helping out. The club committee is very appreciative of the growing support from it’s members, with so many new riders, volunteer assistance is growing, making it easy on the shoulders of the core group. We appreciate this support and continually encourage your participation, please see any of the committee to see how you can help out, especially on practice and race days. For example, we are often short on track marshal’s, which is only a matter of having a two-way radio and reporting any mishaps etc. Other support areas, like writing a post race wrap up would be great, so if we have a budding journalist amongst our members, please let us know, we are happy to encourage numerous reviews and we will post the best summary and you could receive free race entry to the next event. Once again thanks to all that great help out at Mt Torrens We are looking forward to a great race day, so keep praying to the DH Gods for greeat sunny weather. |

CANCELLED THIS WEEKEND - updated 13TH August/08 The Mount Torrens Practice Day on Sunday the 17th, has now been cancelled. HOWEVER, there is some race track preparation work and general work that needs to be done, namely distributing dolomite around areas that are a bit boggy, SO.. if you can get to the track by 11am this Sunday and bring shovels, wheelbarrow, muscle etc you will be allowed to ride the track after the work is done. There is probably about 2 – 3 hours of work for about 30 volunteers, please help. The gate will be locked off at about 11am, so don’t try turning up late, just for a ride as you won’t be allowed in. |
