Belair National Park MTB Plan
Written by geek-on-pushi
Thursday, 23 July 2009
THE TIME IS NOW!

This might not seem like much at a first glance, however the Belair NP plan is pretty much a 'working test case' for single track access for MTB in SA National Parks.

There are a handful of other plans for SA Parks with even better MTB trails planned (including DH tracks) in development as we speak.

Its important that the SA community shows support for this progressive initiative toward greater access to 'single-track' in parks by submitting positive responses to the plan and in doing so supporting a movement toward 'equitable access' for MTB'ers whom wish to enjoy and appreciate our valuable and beautiful bushland by bike.

As mentioned previously there are a bunch of plans 'lined-up' behind this one. If this doesn't get through, others don't stand much of chance. If it does then it sets the scene for some pretty quick action on others (it shouldn't be another massive waiting game). National Parks is supportive the plan and accepts and supports that MTB will play a major role in the future direction of trails in SA Parks however there is a 'very loud' minority of opposition to cycling in parks that is getting all the attention.

Email supporting the establishment of legal MTB trails that riders want to ride.
