General age rules
Age categories are determined by what age
you will be at the 31st of December of this year.
Women may enter any category except Elite
Men. We need more female riders of any ability, so why not give it a go.
Riders
are not permitted to race outside their age category, with the following
exceptions:
The following age exceptions will apply:
Veteran or Masters may race in Elite and Masters may not race in Veterans.
If you ride Elite you can't ride down a
level in say Veterans under any circumstances, (as in you have ridden up in a
category (performance based) you are not allowed to ride down a category later,
so once making that decision, you must stay with it, unless granted permission
by the committee to change).
Definition of Classes:
3XC Category: Riders
must use a bicycle with a triple chain ring or a single speed gear setup.
Sport: A class for casual weekend and beginner
DH riders.
Open A
class for all; to compete against your family for example, medals are given,
though no prizes.
Novice For
first timers, medals will be awarded, however no prizes will be awarded.
